Milan Furniture Festival 2012
The Milan Furniture Fair, held every April, is arguably the most intense week on the design calendar. If your world is rocked by chairs, a nice lamp or some unfeasibly expensive made-to-order piece of furniture, this is the place to be. It's the scene of frenzied trend spotting, where a huge amount of business is conducted, concepts are trialled and vast quantities of prosecco are consumed.

For his first Milan solo exhibition, London-based designer Lee Broom created an old-school wood-panelled public house ("We drove the entire thing by truck from the UK to Italy," says Broom) to showcase his furniture and launch the Crystal Bulb. Made in collaboration with Cumbria Crystal, the delicately hand-blown lead crystal bulb can be screwed into any standard ceiling, wall or lamp fitting (you can change the little bulb inside). Bought some of this months ago and never got round to doing any so thought i'd look it up. AMAZING.
Basically, the quilling process consists of cutting strips of paper, and rolling them with a special tool. It sounds simple enough, but special skill is required to create more advanced shapes like marquises, arrowheads or holly leaves. All through the years, the art of quilling has remained almost unchanged, but new specialty supplies now allow quilling masters to create anything from detailed 3-D figures to wall-sized museum installations.
Because it requires so few supplies, quilling is available to anyone with enough patience to give it a try, and with a little bit of practice you’ll be creating some pretty amazing paper artworks, just like iron-maiden-art, whose works I think show the beauty of quilling.

Flea Market Makeovers
Flea Market Makeovers...
Inspired by a rococo bureau, they painted the original wood finish with water-based enamel paint in white. The black details were painted by hand using a fine brush; they said painting free-hand can seem a bit scary, but adds an extra charm. The pink straps are fitted with wire inside so that you can shape them any way you want.
Before the sconce was painted, masking tape was placed over the flowers and small little dots were also taped off. After a few coats of water-based spray paint in green, the white flowers and random polka dots really pop.
After the chairs were painted with a coat of white paint, they painted a design of loops with dots, inspired by the wallpaper behind, across the padded seat and seat back.

The most adorable little victorian cottage ever. Sandra Foster turned a Catskills hunting cabin into the romantic Victorian cottage she had always wanted, using vintage columns, flooring and wavy glass windows, and doing the carpentry herself. This cottage is only accessible via a stone crossing over a stream.

Curved House!
This is a rare building design of both the context and seems completely out of their environment. The unique modern curves house idea was designed by J.Mayer H.Architects vanguard and the flow in the landscape around him, but the distribution of artificial and natural is very clear on the border of the beautifull landscape garden shop. Love the curves and the volume of flow extends from the exterior of the house, its interiors, which look like and become a solid carved from one piece to another like a series of caves.
